    Hi Dan,

I saw these little guys yesterday but did not try to photograph them - to much sun. You have done a good job with exposure and managed to get him with that beautiful water. Clouds are in the forecast!

A difficult subject on a sunny day. The iridescent hues of the head are nicely presented with good eye contact. The foreground water and reflection is a positive. Focally the whites are a bit hot on my monitor, particularly the head..

What an attractive duck Dan - the lighting has picked up those iridescent colours and i love the colours in the water. Yes the whites look a bit hot on my monitor also.

    Hi Dan,
You are so fortunate to be able to get close to these beautiful little ducks!
The sun has brought out the irridescence beautifully. I like the angle of approach and the bow wave and water droplets on the chest.
On my monitor the whites look OK.
I feel this needs about 1 degree of CW rotation,
    Gail

Great looking capture, Dan, with gorgeous light that really picked up on those special colors. I would guess that your whites on the head were good until you converted this for the web. This does need a sliver of CW rotation. The tip of your beak should be even with the tip of the beak in the reflection and it's just a tad off. I would take a sliver off of the bottom to remove the white line. Really like the little wave created here. I would be very happy with this one and you are very lucky to have them so close.

Great shot of one of my favorite ducks. I cant get within a decent distance to these guys. Very well exposed and very sharp. Great light and love the small water drops on him. Great job..

Beautiful iridescence captured on this little guy, and nice pose with good bow wave. Marina is probably right that the conversion pushed the whites up just that tiny bit. I might be tempted to take a slight bit off the highlights and bring up the shadows a tiny bit. But I mean tiny. This is lovely as presented. I was going to mention rotation as well based on initial gut reaction, but it seems to me that the tip of the bill is aligned with its reflection.

Wow you are so fortunate, these guys are so skittish around here. Great job with details and colours on the face. The wake is superb too. I'm not liking where the reflection is cropped off though. I'd prefer had you pointed your lens lower to include it all plus some space, or cropped it higher...just enough to hide the bill.

P.S. Some of the whites look hot from here too, but not by much so it will be an easy tweak.
