    Default Osprey's Prize #2

Finally got power back here at my house in NJ this Saturday! Been very busy traveling with my tours and speaking engagements as well but hope to participate a bit more in the coming months. This was from a little over a year ago with James and me on the Hooptie Deaux. I had another one from the sequence that I prefer but this one is starting to grow on me. Mostly due to the wing shadow behind the head. Looking forward to my 3 tours out with him next year already!
Canon 1D Mark 3 with the Sigmonster at 356mm at f/7.1 for 1/2500 sec. at ISO 640 all mounted on a tripod with a Wimberly v1 head standing in the water.

Great wing position, and quite the prize indeed. Very nice capture.

    Roman:

Nice, loose framing (by your standards ) with great wing position and exposure. The grip on the fish is special, and the pose of the fish because of it works very well.

    Cheers

I was expecting to have to write "too tight for my case" and that's NOT the case. My favorite part of this image is the way he is holding the fish and that the entire fish is so well displayed here.

The fish with its open mouth make this a special frame. It needs more sharpening, something like this :

    great shot

What a great inflight pose Roman - even the fish has co-operated..!! Didn't even notice the wing shadow until you mentioned it - generally we are our own hardest critc.

Great Osprey shot and the fish with open mouth and eye contact take it over the top. Exposed well and sharp, especially with Arash's re-post. Well done..

Hi Roman, good flight pose, and just love how we can see how the osprey has caught hold of his catch. I do like what Arash has done with the additional sharpening.

Apart from the bit of sharpening needed this image rocks!! I love how the Osprey seems to be pulling the fish's head up causing the mouth to open.
