Default Bald Eagles - Airborn Battle

    Attached Images Attached Images

I just returned from a trip to Haines, Ak to photograph Bald Eagles and do some scouting for workshops I plan to do there in 2013. I invited Arash Hazeghi to join me. We met in Juneau and spent 5 days photographing the Eagles. The Eagles feed on Salmon that have spawned and are continuing upstream to die. This is an image from a series of images of a midair battle over a chunk of Salmon. It is one of my favorites from the trip. Thanks for looking. I hope you like it.

this was the prize of the trip Jim! totally love it.

Whites look good to me as well

This IS the location for anyone who is interested in photographing bald eagles in habitat with no baiting etc.

Great image with wonderful action. Excellent exposure & sharpness. The salmon & the flying bits of salmon (?) are perfect.

Great action and I esp love the BG. Wondering if you have tried a vertical as an alternative. If the crop can hold up, it adds quite a bit of emphasis on the action and eliminates some of the dead space to the left. Just a thought.

Hey Jim - wonderful capture. The orientation of the birds in the frame made me giddy and gave me a sense of height. Really felt for a moment that I was right up there with the eagles. The light, action, and framing are great though Marina's suggestion about a vertical crop might be worth an experiment...
