Another look at a toothsome and shadowy BARRED OWL
Greetings and I'll thank you in advance for having a look at this picture, which was taken the other day with the Canon 7D and 70-300L at 300mm, iso500, 1/1250, f8. 'Twas a shame about those shadows and the light, and staunchly refusing to use fill flash on this noble beast left me where it left me. Another bird photographer got right in the BO's face, playing the ridiculous "who cooks for you" audio and I almost smashed him with his own camera (a Nikon, har har) but ultimately thought the better of it for fear of upsetting the fine master who, to my eye, seemed remarkably unperturbed. I'll welcome your comments and suggestions. Please know that I am presenting you with 75% of the original image...
I'll add (perhaps needlessly) that I hope my words will be taken in the merry and jocular spirit in which they were intended. Although I am often bemused and even nonplussed when standing alongside my fellow bird photographers, my mood rarely becomes murderous, and in actuality I would never smash anyone with their own camera gear. The honest truth is that I have a good love for many of my fellow humans, even audio-playing side-of-the-road owl hunters...
