    Default Double-barred Grass Finch

    Attached Images Attached Images

This Double-barred finch (Often called an owl-bird) was attracted to this Banksia cone where I had placed a few grains of millet-seed in the empty seed-pods of the cone.

This is a great duo! That bird and perch were made for each other. Good background and pose.

    Sweet sweet sweet!
    That perch is crazy cool.
Bird looks great, lovely plumage, cool finch pose, and a perfect head angle.
    Great image.

    John:

The pose, perch and BG work very well in this image, very engaging, clever use of pod to hide the seeds.

On my work monitor, it looks a bit bright overall.

    Well set up and executed!

    Cheers

Hi John, great view of the Finch showing off good sharp detail and colours. Interesting looking cone, and it looks so unique. Your comp is perfect, and well thought out to place the seeds as you did.

    Cloned copies :)
As mentioned here excellent match of the patterns of the perch/pod and the bird. Excellent light and details too

Amazing combo of bird and perch. Nicely thought out and executed. Bird's face seems just a tad bright on my screen.

Another awesome pairing of perch and bird from you. Wonderful background, super comp. I might tone the brightness down a little but this is pretty near perfect, John.

Great shot again of this species. Everything looks nice and sharp. Exposure looks good but looks a little bright on my monitor. Very well done John!

Superb bird/perch combo here, and the BG is wonderous too. Vertical comp works very well, and I especially like the horizontal leaves at the bottom. Looks a bit bright from here too, but seeing that the blacks are already pretty dark and looking good I'd only tone down the midtones and/or brights rather than the whole image.
