    Hi,

Very nice Eurasian Eagle-Owl. To me the bird looks a little soft - perhaps slightly out of focus, or possibly motion blur - less likely with a ss of 1/6400. My preference would be a vertical crop with the owl placed left of center something like this, to keep the red flower in.

Nice photograph of the owl. Such fascinating creatures. You already know it needs to be cropped to take it out of the middle of the frame. Since you have a bit of interest with the flowers in front of the owl, I would crop from the left and from the top. Try the rule of thirds in aspect ratio (which may or may not work, but is usually where I start unless I'm going for a vertical crop instead of landscape), then just play around until you find one you like.

Hi Giovanni , I really like the second crop . The Flowers and the green grass , give a hint of the season ,and add depth .

Giovanni, your repost is much better! We really don't want to put our subjects in the center of the frame. Your image shows nice exposure and color. The sharpening might be a bit much. I like Richard's crop too, as I think this works well as a vertical. Good thinking to use the tree as a support!
