    Default Sacred kingfisher and prey

I am not sure what the squashed up mush is in the bill. It could be some reptile all mashed up ready to feed the chicks. Cropped about 30% off the original as I was only using the 300 f/4 IS straight through from a baghide near the nest.

The little OOF patch at the bottom of the perch is actually a clump of grasses, the blue above the tail is the river seen through the treetops below.

I think it looks a bit strange as I did resize from 800 to 700 pixels to host at a different site and did another smart sharpen, perhaps a tad much?

I love that perch...the textures, lichen, and weathered look all contribute equally to it. I like the alert posture of the bird. The colour temp is perhaps on the coolish side? I'd like to see more room above (and at right to keep the same aspect ratio)

I like the pose and eye contact. It looks a bit flat on my monitor and I would apply some NR on the BG. Maybe a slightly wider crop would make it even better.

Love the composition, and image. The exposure is good. The details on your subject is tack sharp. Like the deep rich blue hues and the background brings it all together. Congrats...:D

This crop looks pretty good to me Akos - great pose and head turn. Exposure is spot on but a slight S-curve would make this image pop!! I like it very much!!

Lovely pose and nice catch. I find the perch too dominant for such little bird.

I agree. Unfortunately I had no choce but take it as is, because I was perched myself precariously close to the edge of a cliff. :)

Posture perfect, like the alertness, great DOF and sharpness. I agree that a tiny increase of mid tone contrast could make the image pop more, and perhaps just a slight bit more saturation.

Really cool! I would warm up the color temp, add saturation, reduce noise in the BG. Well done!

I like the BG, pose, colors, and perch. Agree on the need for a little more contrast (pop). Interesting meal he has there.
