    Default Mockingbird in Fall Plumage

A bit of a rarity locally, but I recently caught this one in a local bush with Fall foliage. Hope the bg doesn't overwhelm the bird too much, but I feel it's part of the overall image.

    OM-D E-M5, Pan 100-300, hand-held, 1/250. f/5.6, ISO320, spot-metered on the bird's head.

Some crop, curves, sharpening, nr in LR4. A few branches in front of the bird cloned out.

    Thanks for looking,

    Richard

We have tons of mockingbirds here, but sadly, no fall foliage to brighten up the backgrounds. In an ideal situation, you wouldn't have all the fore front branches, but we take what we get with a rarity.

Hi Richard. I think the bird stands out nicely. Although busy, the BG colors are pleasing. Congrats on getting this local rarity!

I meant to title this "Mockingbird in Fall Foliage", not .... Plumage!

Hi Richard, twiggy environments are a real challenge, you've captured this one well. Focus looks dead on with a good subject to camera angle and pose. lighting looks good too. Vignettes are a matter of taste but thought I'd give it a quick go as there are a couple of out of focus elements on the edges that are a bit distracting. (blurred orange cluster on left and vertical light gray branch to the right).
