I took this shot whilst waiting for the short eared owls to appear, 5 days later I am still waiting!

Good one Jonathan, I like the perch and smooth BG. I would crop in a bit though, hope you have better luck with the owl next time

Hi Jon, the IQ has held up well, if you say its a large crop. Interesting looking perch, and I do like the BG. I like the placement of the chat, and Im fine with the space you have given her.

Did you find any difference after the MA?

Hi Stu, the MA is not an easy reply, some lenses "needed" more than others the settings ranged from 2 to about 7 going from memory. I was happy before, and I am happy now, I think I need a few more images under the belt before I can give a sensible response. This shot looks good to me and it was at full aperture - deliberately.

Interesting perch, lovely warm light and nice bird. My only wish is that the bird's head angle was a littler better.

Hey Jon - Well, if the owls had been around, you probably wouldn't have gotten this fine shot. I like the light, the framing, and the bird's pose: the sentinel. cheers, gt
