A very co-operative owl Gary. Nicely composed in the frame and amusing how he seems to be winking at you..!! I'm wondering if applying some contrast would kick this image up a notch?

nice image, agree on boosting the color, the owl is not a short eared owl,I think it is a burrowing owl.thanks.

    Gary -

Very nice capture. I've had a hard time getting one of these guys perching out of the burrow, but it seems that you got the shot!

I agree about adding a bit of punch via added contrast and possibly a slight boost in saturation.

Nice owl and BG. I also believe that a boost of contrast could improve this image.

I'm not sure I would touch the contrast, but for sure I'd boost the saturation, or raise the WB. Nice to get this species off the ground, and I like the tilted perch you got here for it. Beautiful BG. Light angle not advantageous, but you did best you could...plus you eventually got to the other side!

Almost had a hat trick of errors on this one. I had it filed as a Burrowing owl but posted it as a short-eared. The post processing was subpar. Here is a repost. Used levels to brighten the dark tones in the owl and slightly increased saturation in the subject. Found post processing this one difficult.
