Welcome Terry and what a great image to kick off with. I haven't seen this stunning grebe before - what beautiful colouring and that red eye really pops! Getting the young chicks hitching a ride was a real bonus. Well done Terry.

I like the red eye, details, angled pose and chicks. I might take a sliver off the bottom and add more room up top if you have it. Nice image Terry!

I would agree with more room at the top and less on the bottom. The grebe with the checks are wonderful - a shot all of us would like to have.

Hi Terry, let me first give you a big welcome to BPN!!

Great subject here. Love the red eye and plumage on the face, which is nicely detailed. Well exposed. The young ones are a neat bonus of which I'd suggest adding another round of sharpening. I agree with the comp suggestiuons provided to you already, and I would also give the image some CW rotation as the grebe appears to be swimming downhill.

Looking forward to more from you!
