bird ID help please
This bird was photographed in Delaware in late August. Can someone please help me identify?

Hi Sandra. Looks like a Greater Yellowlegs to me. The legs are yellow (duh), ruling out Solitary SP. and the bill is much longer than the head width from front to back, making it a Greater rather than a Lesser Yellowlegs. Lesser's bill would be much closer in length to the head width, front to back (making sense?).

I really appreciate your help, I talked myself into thinking it might be a dowitcher.......I've never seen a greater only lesser yellowlegs. Thanks again!

Definitely Greater Yellowlegs. If you do a Google image search for "yellowlegs dowitcher", a couple of comparison photos come up that might help you see the differences.
