Hi William, I like the color and texture of the pilings, and the way the color complements the colors of the pelican. You started with a very interesting wing stretch and raised foot, with nice head angle and light angle. Wonderful lighting on the right wing primaries. The image is a little tight for me on the top and right side, and I would clone out the small brown blur along the left edge. A very striking image!

Hi Bill, fabulous treatment...love the color of the rocks and the wing stretch pose is nice.

I agree with Mike's comments. There's a lot to like about this, and it would be even better than it already is with more room at the top and right and with that gray area on the left taken care of. I'd probably desaturate the reds just a bit, too, but all those things are just icing on the cake.

A dancing Pelican in a beautiful pose. Lovely details. The Pelican stands out against the soft colored water. I might tone down the rocks so they don't overpower the Pelican.

I think this is a great composition! What a pose. I like the tight crop (well perhaps just a bit more on the right...) I like it as is, but a slight clockwise rotation might be good. Pelican is tilted a bit down.

These are very small points. Overall this is a wonderful pic with strong processing.

Appreciate the comments and observations. Mitch, you are correct about the rotation being off, but I think it needs a slight CCW rotation, I noticed this.... right after I posted it! Also I think it is indeed too tight in the frame, result of shooting at 700mm. Could be fixed pretty easily though. regards~Bill
