I took this shot about two weeks ago. It's been raining a lot lately, so I just work on the computer.
I hope to get out on Friday, rain suppose to stop by then.
I used linear dodge on highlights and surface blur on the background to eliminate banding that I found.
    Thanks for looking.

Karl, I am looking forward to the return of these beauties. I love the golden light and nice clean bg as well as your low angle and the neat pattern of the body reflecting on the water. I keep looking at the light tones on the face wondering if they might be a little hot or maybe it's the yellow cast from the light that is throwing me.

Love the light, color and pose. I would crop some off the top.

Lovely warm tones Karl. Nice pose and head turn. I agree with a small crop from the top.

    Thanks, Alan.
I crop some off the top. Looks better.

Thanks Cheryl. I checked the critical area again. It is not blown.
However, it was very bright originally, around the base of the beak area that is, and I did some serious linear burn on it.
(Originally I referred to it as; linear dodge. My mistake, I was using the wrong term.)
    I can't do much anymore.

    Thank you all.

Beautiful colors that complement each other well. Exposed well and sharp. Great HA and catch light. Like the comp too. Great work..

I like both crops. Beautiful image, Karl. That light is wondrous, and your low angle is super.

Hi Karl: I took your picture into PS and I see what you mean about those yellow in the head. I did a color balance & saturation adjustments but they didn't help much. I tried Alan's idea for a crop and crop up to the white portion on the bottom. I feel that makes the image stronger and then just a sliver off of the right. Lovely pose and low angle here. The water color is stunning!!!

The repost is terrific. The light and color are beautiful, Karl and a very nice intimate shooting angle.

I love the light and low angle Karl. Other items noted will give you something to play with in regards to how you might want to improve the image.
