A very nice bird; good color, light, and details. I would think it prudent to have lowered the ISO and cut back on the 1/4000 shutter speed. But I suspect that your D4 has no noise at iso640? Any thoughts on the matter?

Jack I always like to use high shutter speeds, as I am always hoping for a sharp take-off or landing. The D4 is very good at ISO well past 800 and noise isn't a issue.

Another beautiful low angle shot that pulls us into the bird's world. Eyes pop here pretty nicely as well. Great work, Vivaldo.

    Vivaldo-

Stunning shot. I like your thinking about the fast shutter speeds so that you are ready for the action shot. Love the details that you were able to extract in this one, most likely due to a very good exposure.

It looks like it might need just a tad bit of CW rotation.

Quite nice. Great low angle, and the eye looks amazing. Sharp as posted, and I love the clean unobstructed BG. Yes to CW rotation, and I'd look into brightening some of the whites on the plumage (I say this not having seen one of these with my own eyes, but it seems to have some grayish areas that should be whiter perhaps?). All else looks excellent, very well done.

Beautiful portrait of this plover, Vivaldo. I love the blues in your image, and how the colors of the bird pop against them. Great comp and of course I wonderful low angle.

Phenomenal capture, Vivaldo. I really love the original's color...that soft blue background and slight offwhite whites and generally warmer overall tone just seem to appeal to me more. I feel the sky is a bit too vibrant and blue in the white-balance corrected repost, and that kind of detracts from the wonderful soft lighting that the original has. I agree that it needs a little CW rotation, but this is one beautiful photo.

Hi Viv, great low perspective, and love the light and overall colours. Sharpness is spot on. I do liike the inclusion of the foliage running along the bottom of the image. In your repost, rotation has turned out well, but feel you have made the image a touch too 'cool'. I prefer the colours in your OP.

excellent low angle, details and light. I prefer a tighter crop.
