    Default Pink Rose

I was at Queens Botanical Gardens Last year and was surprised to see the Varieties of Roses in their Rose Garden.I took this shot in broad daylight. Not sure if this Crop works or Square Crop would look better?
This Right half of the frame had the OOF Green Leaves on which I selectively increased the contrast to 100 and hence making it look black.

Perfect exposure on the rose a little short on DOF on the left and front, maybe f16 would have done it. The black background is very subjective for me - sometimes I like sometimes not.

Very nice capture! Agree with Jonathan on the slightly shallow DOF. I'll second your own suggestion for a square crop, I think it will suit the circular shape of the flower.

Hi Sanjeev. I love the mix of delicate colors you captured. Cropping is always somewhat subjective - this presentation works and a square crop would also work well. Nice sharpness on the stamens and the petals behind - though I think the image would be stronger if the petals in front of the stamens were sharp. Changing the point of focus might have accomplished this. As an alternative you might have used ISO 400 which could give you f/11 and a little more DOF. As Jon suggested, f/16 would be even better.
