    Default Peregrine Falcon Hunting Sequence

I was a witness to an Hunting action of a peregrine Falcon at our Local Beach. This is a composite of 6 consecutive frames using Quick Layer Mask in PS and all the action happened in 1 second. No other PP done other than masking & sharpening,NR. The color is as shot in the early morning rising Sunlight.

I had posted an Image sometimes back in the Avian Thread. http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ferrerid=12786

I hope you'll will like it.

I very much like sequence images, and the brown/blue color combination of this one makes me like it even better. The lighting makes it attractive, too.

Some suggestions for your consideration . . .
Because it would make the strong diagonals of the foreground broken waves slant down to the right and make the curve of the falcon sequence curve up to the right (as well as making the direction of flight to the right), I'd flip the image horizontally. I'd also consider adding canvas horizontally and increasing the distance a bit between at least some of the falcon shots. It might not be technically right, but I think it'd look better less crowded. In addition, it'd give a horizontal panorama that would complement the image. Instead, you could delete the third one from the left and space the others out, but that would still leave the lead one too close to the frame.

When I viewed your profile, I saw part of the text that was apparently supposed to accompany your post. I'm not sure why I can't see the text, here, but I don't think something's gone awry at this end because the other posts have their text. I hope yours shows up.

Good work capturing all these shots and putting them together. I especially like the beautiful patterns on the falcon. I think creating more space between the falcons is a good idea, as well as adding space on the left so the falcon has someplace to fly. Thanks for sharing.

Dennis and Anita,Thank you so very much for taking the time in critiquing this Image.

I too felt the birds to be a little too close, but thats how the falcons were placed in each of the original frames.I shot this at the rate of 6 fps and have posted 1 second capture of the action.I will give a try at spacing them a little apart, but am afraid it will be very difficult to match the waves.I will definitely add Canvas to the right of the frame as suggested by both of you. Thanks once again.

Sanjeev, it's a great flight sequence and the light is lovely. I hope you'll post more of these - they're wonderful.

Using each complete shot and trying to match the waves sounds way too difficult. I'd be inclined to mask the final image on a duplicate layer so it showed only the falcons. Then, I'd make duplicates of that until there was one for each falcon and use a black brush in the mask thumbnail of each of those layers to leave one different falcon visible in each. Once you added canvas, that would allow you to move each falcon layer to get the spacing you want without worrying about the background. (Depending on the version of Photoshop you're using, you could just use content-aware fill to remove the falcons from the background layer or bring in a background from one of the sequence shots and use it.)

Sanjeev, Very nice sequence. I like the action captured. It does seem a bit crowded as suggested above. I might like a slight curve adjustment, the yellows seem a bit bright. Did the falcon get the juvi skimmer? Awesome capture- falcons are fast!
