    Default Cormorant with perch number 2

    Another shot from the sequence with the cormorant at Dunham Massey. The bird has swum away from the dark BG and it looks better in that respect but no water splashes from the fish.
    Similar processing to the previous pic, little tweak to exposure/levels and some sharpening. Cropped a little to off center the bird.
    Canon 1d mkIV,
    Canon 500mm + 1.4 = 700m
    ISO 800
    1/1250

    Ivan I am familiar with the venue - just 50 min from home! You have a super image here, I really like the moment and the detail exposure and colours are excellent. You have also got a very nice muted background. A relatively minor point, but I think it would make a difference, is the pale area above the fish, I would blend that bit into the background so there were not any obvious boundaries.

    I was hoping that you would have one of these from your series of shots. Very nice! Exposure and processing are dead on.

    I would like to see more room on the left, and maybe a little less on the bottom.

    Super catch nice low angle. I am a little distracted by the oof branch in the bg
