Hi guys and gals! I have been considering joining this community for some time now and finally decided to. I have been a serious amateur for approximately 6 years now and my primarily interest was pics of my kids and cars (other toys!). Started with a Canon XS to get my feet wet. When I was younger I used to shoot film with a Nikon camera that belonged to my uncle. After the XS I moved to a T2i and that was when I started to get interested in birds. It happen one day at my own backyard taking pics of my dogs playing with the kids. Just looked up, took a pic and search for its identity in a reference book I bought to my son who loves animals in general. I was shooting initially with a vintage Canon Reflex Mirror lens (500mm). I squeezed every ounce of performance possible with it with an Ed Mika glassless adapter.
Fast forward to my current setup is a Canon 7D (recently acquired), and a Sigma 150-500mm (Bigmos). I hope I can share some of my pics with all of you and learn from some of the masters here what I can (which looking at some of the guy's work here, is a lot!). This hobby gives me some peace of mind and time to relax which is, to me, the most important aspect of it. Im a doctor, Adult Neurologist to be exact, and every little bit of relaxation is always welcomed.
Anyways, thank for the opportunity of hanging around here!
