    Default BAD HAIR DAY

Thought I would post something that might bring a smile to everyone's face. These young Tricolored Herons are absolutely hysterical to watch when they are young. They are very active and playful and quite tame compared to some of the other young birds. This one was photographed at Gatorland.

    F5.6, 1/500sec, ISO 400, manual mode

    Handheld

C & C always welcomed and much appreciated.

    Marina:

This is very funny indeed. Don't think I have seen an image of these guys before. Reminds me somewhat of a rock hopper penguin. Great eye contact. Nice light. Any fill used?

    Thanks for the chuckle!

And very well done too. Perfect processing. The only nit is the "stuff" behind its head.

Nice image to show, young herons really are comical with the downy heads. Nice use of fill flash- it may prompt me to buy a flash with all the dull days we get in the UK.

Very nice indeed, super details. The green foliage keeps pulling my eyes from the bird, is it perhaps just a little oversaturated??

Ha ha that's awesome!! This fella has loads of character, and you've portrayed it beautifully Great techs, sharpness, colours. I just wish the small "tuft" of vegetation directly above the head was not there (but I love the leaves along the left edge). Made me smile big time...thanks!!
