While I was trying to got a decent image of a lesser kestrel in flight under this nice light and fantastic BG I saw that a rock dove was repeating the same flight pattern so I decide to try. I prefocused on the correct place, AF lock and ready to to shot (handheld) and after a few attempts I got this, IMO, nice image of a dove. It is not what I have on mind (a frame filling male lesser kestrel with a great eye contact :D) but I like the result. BTW the 300VR is fast and sharp as no other lens I have ever tried.
    Hope you like this one

Nikon D2X AFS Nikkor 300VR handheld 1/3000s f3,5 ISO 250 some cloning at the right lower angle. Slight cropping for composition

    Hi Juan,
Love the fact that the dove it looking at you. Nice and sharp. I think the 'stripe' of background down the middle of the dove is taking my attention away from the dove. I might be tempted to blend the green in back there. Pretty nice looking image!

Cool pose, details and BG. You handled the harsh light well, maybe a bit S/H.

Good descending position and great technique, pre-focusing is the way to get difficult images most of the time. Sun was from your high right, hence the shadow from the wing. Good head angle and light on the face.

Yes Gus he did it :D it was perched at the top of a roof and reapeating the same fight pattern: a few minutes perched looking towards the window I was, jumping to the air, open the wings ad flight, and so on

Nice and sharp. Kind of a weird pose though.
