I kept the white balance 6000 with bit of a blue cast to emphasize cold environment.

Nicely detailed snow there in the FG Sid. Provides a nice pedestal for the bear. Is that a tag in his ear?

Hi Sid, good eye contact, and you have exposed the overall image nicely. I like the pose resting on his front legs, and the placement in the frame works well.

Hi Sid - your WB choice works well. Great detail in the snow and of course, the pose is fantastic. I didn't think it was possible but I think this year's shots may even be better than last year's

    Sid,
Man o man - you nailed the exposure, it's dead sharp, beautiful subject and environment.
I liked your choice of composition. I am re-posting a slight tweak that IMO makes this and even stronger image.

Wow that was tough. I had to bring them both into PS to see the changes. After seeing them side by side, I am going to have to go with Sid's version. The bear looks a tad more grand b/c he is higher in the frame. I understand what James was trying to do and it was frankly my first thought when I saw this picture...to crop more from the bottom. But looking at them side-by-side, I think I like the OP slightly better. Regardless of which anyone prefers, this is a terrific capture, Sid, with amazing details.

Hi Sid, from what I can see comparing the two, James has brought out more definition/detail/tone within the facing snow, however it has also in turn, added more yellow to the bear which I feel is too strong and prefer the OP. So for me it's a compromise between the two, Sids top half, James lower half, if I can put it that way I love the way they just drop the head slightly in that 'dog' fashion.

Another stellar polar bear image, Sid!
Perfect exposure and love the pose.
I like your bear's colour a bit better, but prefer James' slight crop. All in all up to you now

Not sure about any color differences, I only cropped the image - everything else was perfect.
