Great looking B&W Morkel, just a shame about the oof grass by the nose.

Very nice Morkel. The BG being dark, really makes her pop.

Hi Mork, super pose, sharp where it counts, and love how the head pops in the image. Great conversion as usual, and Im fine with the surrounding grasses.

Hi Morkel - great pose and conversion. The eye lashes on the closest eye look slightly oversharpened to me. Did you apply more selective sharpening there?

This image really works for me, Morkel. The OOF grass doesn't bother me in the least. This leopardess just pops right out of the screen. I love the whiskers and the details around the ears and for me the blades of grass add interest. The B&W really worked well for you here.

Hi Morkel, nice detail & clarity on this, having the darker area of BKG really helps the separation between head & BKG nicely. In an ideal world not having the grass over the nose would have been good, but hey, that's wildlife...

Thanks everyone for your comments/suggestions.
Rachel - I didn't work on the face or whiskers individually particularly.
Regarding the grasses...what can one do?

Beautiful pose and fine detail. Looks really stunning! What grasses?

Gerald

Super shot and excellent PP mate! Got to love those details - even the sand on the eyelid is visible.

Oh my!
I don't know how you are doing some of your photos, but they have a certain glow in them. I really love how fair/light her fur is, in contrast to that dark background. Guessing it is a female, I think that I would fall in love with her (just seeing the photo) if I was a male leopard :)

Thanks a lot for your very kind comments, folks.
It's worth noting that the dark BG was achieved more through selective colour filtering in the conversion process than through excessive burning and contrast adjustments.
