    Default Hairy Woodpeckers

I had a nice pair of Hairy Woodpeckers visiting my backyard setup this morning. As I was looking through the images in Adobe Bridge I thought about about trying to combine the image of the male and female bird sort of like a macro image stack. It worked pretty well and this is the result. Very cloudy, gloomy day so very high ISO was needed but it cleaned up nicely.

That's really nice photoshop work...pretty seamless and looks sweet.
I have to admit, I was totally stoked to see the thumbnail and see that
someone pulled a shot like this off...just a little bit of a bummer that you achieved
the image by combining two images in post....still, pretty dang awesome.
There is a little smudge by the end of the female's tail that you could clean up....

Nice perch, excellent background and great to have both in the frame, Joel.

    Great PP!
A very cool image, one would be hard pressed to see the seam.
    Very nice.

Wow, a cleaver bit of post processing there Joel - I would never have picked it. I have no problem with this providing the author explains how the composition came about. A lovely composition has resulted.

Love how you could stack both birds in your image. Lovely BG and feather details!
