    John:

Welcome back! A very colorful image, with attractive bird, nice pose, like the seed. Soft BG, sharp.

For personal taste, I might reduce the exposure by .25 stop.

    Looking forward to more.

    Cheers

The compostion is awesome! Great arrangement of the elements with f11 providing some nice coverage.
The light quality is vibrant, but I think the saturation could be tamed a bit. There is noticeable noise
in the background, which is surprising with this light quality at iso400...A little selective NR could clean it up.
Fine details on the bird seem a bit lacking or soft. How big of a crop would you estimate this to be?

    Hey John
I agree with not seeing much detail in the finch. That can be the result of bad processing or a big crop. Working from a hide, I suspect it may be the processing rather than a big crop. Great setting and beautiful light though. I can't compare this to the usually very high standard images of yours I've seen over the years.

Amazing colors and a nice composition. I also like the seed in the bill. I am agreeing with other suggestions about color saturation and brightness.

Hi John, I like the high placement in the frame, with an interesting setting of foliage. I agree, toning down the colours may work better, and glad you didnt cut off any of the leaves on the edges.
