nice toning and tonal range here, Peter, but it's the dust cloud bottom LHS that makes the image...without that it would've been quite static
I like the DOF as well!
Congrats on your Nature's Best Honours! I was in the running as well for a spot in the final list, but fell by the wayside sadly

Agree with Morkel that the dust is what makes this image so dramatic. Congratulations as well on your Nature's honor!!!

The dust does make this and like Morkel said, nice tone/tonal range.

Congrats on the NB award Peter

Hi Peter, great action with the flying dust, and I do like your conversion.

Peter - congrats on Nature's Best. As usual a fantastic conversion and I too agree that it is the dust cloud that makes it.

    Hi Peter,

Very nice image and I agree with others, the dust adds a lot. I'm trying to figure out the eye. Seems like a very bright reflection. Could that be an artifact of the conversion?

    Congratulations on Natures Best!

Hi Peter, good to hear you are doing well in the 'awards' again.

I do like the toning/conversion as it gives a bit of 'grit' to the image. Like Roger, I too would be interested to hear your thoughts on the eye, as that was the first thing that caught mine, it almost has the appearance of a sharks, rolling back before it strikes?

Hi Everybody.... Thank you all for your congrats on NaturesBest ,it's always a wonderful feeling when your image gets chosen for a big competition....

Thanks for comments on my image . And I do of course agree about the dust adding a sense of drama to the image .

Regarding the eye , unfortunately will not be able to check the tiff at the moment , but from what I remember the eye is rolled back showing the white and there is a reflection on the pupil ,in fact I think you can see the 4x4 ... But will check as soon as I am back up and running screen wise again.
Thanks again one and all ....
