Mumbai , is the concrete jungle , but sometimes it does throw some surprises .

This almost looked like a Bittern , but the wing pattern gave it away .

    Techs :
    Shutter Speed :1/400 s
    Aperture : f8
    Speed : ISO 1000 .

    Shot at 1200 mm supported by a mono-pod .

    Cheers,
    Rakesh

Looks great. BG is OOF enough to make the subject stand out well. Exposure and details look great too. Nice work...

Very nice shot, especially considering you shot at 1200 mm with a relatively slow shutter speed. I would brighten him up just a little. The details are very nice throughout.

Very nice bittern or heron Rakesh. Nice comp, but I'd crop a bit more at right to cut the perch rather than clip it. I'd also eliminate the specular highlights in the BG. Good exposure, nice details. Head angled away, still very good overall.

@ Daniel : Ya , losing the specular highlights would help the image a great deal . This is a FF image , so should have composed to include the perch . As for the id ...it is a Little Heron / Little Green Heron . Don't know why I typed 'plover ' ?? hangover ?? Can somebody change the subject title ??

1200mm on a monopod....I'm very impressed, great side on profile showing the beautiful eye these birds have got...I disagree with the ID....I'll call it a " Long-toed Finch " hehehehe
