    Default Wild Mink

    Hello to all of you!

Not as exotic as all the african shots shown here, but... here is a wild mink I got a few days ago.

All the star lights spots are either dust on water or droplets spreading from its shaking : he just went out of the water from swimming. The whole scene lasted only 4 seconds.

    Canon EOS 7D Canon IS 600 mm 1:4,0 + TC 1,4X III - 1/2500s f/5.6 iso800 Full Frame

    C&C : thanks in advance!

You must have been tickled pink to capture this mink, and it doesn't look as though it was an easy one to photograph. I wonder whether he was shaking just before you photographed this b/c of all the water droplets. His head doesn't look quite sharp on my monitor

Yves, no species is preferred above the other here...
I like the moment here, but feel the light was against you and that you picked up some softness in the head - at SS 1/2500 it shouldn't be motion blur so it could be a DOF issue? In fact, the whole mink doesn't look quite sharp to me, critical sharpness appears to be on the diagonal piece of earth in front of it...
There's also a distinct lack of detail in the hindquarters. Perhaps going to RAW and reworking is worth it...
