Snowy Egret from Gatorland a few weeks back.

    Mode: Manual
    Metering: Evaluative
    ISO: 500

(Note: The bird is wild so I am guessing that Gatorland or SAAF images can be posted in AWF. If a moderator feels this needs to be moved, please do so.)

Very nice Robert. I like the bg and the bit of reflected wing tip. The pink lores and wing position enhance the image. I only wish his crest was raised.

P.S. I was working on similar images during my last visit to GL.

    Robert:

A beauty. I always find that wading birds with wings almost touching the water while flying helps tie their two habitats togethor, air and water. Very nice fill flash, bright image without being overpowering.

Nice, love the breeding colors in the feet and lores. the reflections really make the image work.

I would have use 1/15th to show some speed :)

Of course close wing tip up and crest up as jim mentioned would have been perfect, but Its very nice as is.

Can't fault it. The flash worked very well, the exposure against the dark background is spot on, not the easiest of situations!

These birds are so often photogrphed that it's hard to be original, yet this image is. I really like the extended wing, just touching the water, the included reflection, the feet position, and the green background.
