    Default Andrew Wyeth Window

I had the privilege of going behind the barriers and shooting inside the rooms at Dudley Farms this week. This is a shot from inside one of the bedrooms. It was a 3 image HDR from the camera (Canon 5D Mk III). I used the Topaz Medium Sketch filter with a Luminosity blending mode at 50% and then Nik Sunlight to brighten it up a bit. It reminded me of a Wyeth

I like the composition, the rich brown tones and the light coming through the lamp, vase, and curtains. The reflection off the table is beautiful, too. And the reflection of the curtain in the window. It sure does look like an Andrew Wyeth. A number of his paintings included windows. There's at least one with curtains blowing in the breeze. When I lived in eastern Pennsylvania, I used to visit the Brandywine River Museum, which houses paintings of all three generations of Wyeths. Thanks for posting this and taking me back.

yes, beautiful. Good comp. I like the way the curtains and glass are so translucent-- and the window reflection of the curtains adds depth and interest, too.

This is beautiful, Cheryl. And I'm totally jealous that you got to go inside the rooms

Perfect control of lighting. Just enough detail held in the oil lamp. Well executed image.

Excellent! It does remind me of a Wyeth, with those earth tones, as well as a Normal Rockwell. The light and details here are just gorgeous. You captured the translucence of the lamp and curtains. Beautiful work! Which Topaz Program has the Medium Sketch filter? I would love to try it.

Anita, thank you. I used Topaz Adjust 5>Stylized Collection>Sketch Med on Luminosity Blend mode - opacity 100%, Fill 50%. Adjust 5 has tons of new effects and the nice thing about Topaz is once you buy it the upgrades are free

Thanks! I have Topaz Adjust 5 but hadn't explored the Stylized section. I just experimented with Sketch Med at Luminosity blend--great! But, what do you mean by Fill 50%?

Anita, underneath the Opacity slider (which controls the master opacity of the layer) is a "Fill" slider - it controls the interior opacity of the layer. Sometimes I'll use both, sometimes just one but they will definitely give you different looks on some images.

I don't think Elements 10 has a fill slider under the opacity slider. No problem. Many thanks for your answer!
