I'm trying a different look--soft and pale. I was inspired by Jacky Parker . I used two textures by Kim Klassen. To get the pale look, I used screen mode for the first texture, brushing away areas I wanted to show through.

Very nicely done, Anita. Ordinarily, I'm not a fan of foreground elements being out of focus, but it works very well in this image. The angle of the petals and the slight curve of the stem are very effective, and you did a great job with the textures. There seems to be a hint of pink in the background. Whether it's in one of the textures or is out-of-focus blooms, it helps to pull everything together. It's a wonderful image.
Great painterly feel. Love the soft textures and pale palet. Perhaps a greeting card???????
Anita, this is lovely. I think if it were mine, I might consider reducing the contrast of the center of the flower and maybe adding a very slight blur to it. Also, while I like the textures you used very much, I don't so much like the effect on the flower petals on the LHS. Overall, pretty minor nits/suggestions. I do like the image as presented.
I went and searched Jacky Parker, I see what style went for...agree with Maureen's idea about the centre (canadian). Lovely texture, framing and effects, well done.
Thank you all for your comments. I see what you mean, Maureen, about the left side petal and the center. I made adjustments to both.![]()
Beautiful Anita!
I like the subdued center. The image was quite good before; it's even better, now.
Anita, the repost is perfect! Beautifully done.![]()
