Hi all... this is an image of a dark jumping spider (Salticidae)... it is difficult to expose dark the exo-skeletons... I enjoyed those "beady eyes".

    Canon EOS 60D
    Canon MP-E 65mm f2.8
    Aperture:f16
    Magnification: 2.5x
    Shutter speed: 1/200s
    Metering: Spot
    ISO: 100
Flash: MT-24EX Macro twin-lite (diffused with chocolate packaging paper)

    Crits and comments welcome... ENJOY!

Great macro! I like the focus, brings out just his portrait, and blurs everything else. The chocolate packing paper diffuser is a nice touch, I like the highlight it created in the jumper's eyes. Background is great, nicely contrasts with the subject.

Hi Jason. This cute little guy gave you a great pose and the diffused-flash lighting is outstanding - you're getting really good at this! Also excellent sharpness within your DOF - it's not always easy to get both the front legs and the eyes sharp at this magnification. This is an image to be proud of!

Awesome exposure and details on this little guy!!! At F16 you really acquired some good DOF and your flash technique worked very well. Love the green against your spider.

Beautifully sharp where it should be, those eyes have my attention. I like the composition and the colours, a very good image indeed. He may be little but he looks like a real predator!

Impressive shot, Jason. Difficult to get a good shot of these jumpers as they're always well...jumping. Usually away from my camera. Absolutely love the diffused lighting here. One thing though - have you thought about a pano crop? Not sure if it'd work as it may be too tight, but just an idea.
