    Hi Bob,
I love the pose with the rear leg bent behind and wings forward. I can feel the motion!
    A few suggestions
    1. You can post your image much larger (2034 on long side) and that makes it easier for my 50 + year old eyes to critique
    2. You need to install LR .
    3. You need to apply NR (noise reduction ) to the BG
    4. I would rotate image CC.
    5. The head is soft but with DPP or LR4 you could selectively sharpen the eye and head and might be able to rescue the image.
I like the tones of golds and browns .

I like the landing pose and complimentary colours. Good suggestions by Gail.

    Hi Gail,

Thanks so much! As you can see, I've barely dipped a toe into learning much about post processing. So I'm unfamiliar with some of the terminology.

When you say to "rotate image CC", what is CC? And what is DPP. I guess that makes me 1 for 3, because I DO know what LR4 is :-).

Excellent pose but it looks like the focus fell on the near wing which resulted in softness on the head and eye.

    Hi Bob,
DPP is Digital Photo Professional. This is the program that came free with your 7D.
CW means clockwise ( sorry for my typo!)
I recommend you buy Artie's ebook called Digital Basics. Arash also contibuted a section on DPP It is a good place to start to learn post processing,
    Gail

    Ever so slightly soft, but I's still be very pleased with it if it were mine, lovely golden light and loving that pose....perhaps ballet dancer may of been another good title { Swan Lake of course lol }

Very nice timing and capture, but I would take a look at Gail's suggestions. It looks like it was a heavy crop, too.

Ditto Gail except for image size she meant 1024 on the long side. Like the running pose here. Too bad the focus didn't fall on the bird's head.
