Blimey, I thought it was Xmas for a minute there Peter when I saw you posted.

I saw this a while back, love it, but it's the concept and what it evokes that I really like. It's the style and treatment for me, with the bleached out FG conveying the blistering heat of the day. Works for me even as a square format, although personally I would like a bit more at the foot of the image. Nice one.

    That's two prints now Peter.

Hope to see more, well after the chocolate cake.

Peter - I agree, it's great to see you posting again. I really like this image, it has an old time feel to it. Great use of black and white, dof and selective focus. I too wish for just a sliver more room below but overall, a great image.

    Rachel

Agree with Rachel about old time look. Think I'd crop a good bit off of top. (If aspect were 4x5 it might look even more old time).

Love the use of space with the placement of the subjects; the bleached grasses and the shimmering heat. Great use of black and white, but I'm not old enough to comment on whether it is an "old time look" or not - ha ha!

    Thanks for sharing,

    Gerald

Thank you all for comments ... Nice to be back ...

Gerald .. Agree about the old time feel , I am too young as well .... I have just applied a warm tone .. Not sepia or antique etc.

The crop and space in front are all subjective .. I will be posting mostly B&W as its always been my favorite medium of expressing myself ... So please forgive me !

I think we could forgive you Peter, as it would bring another dimension to the Forum and bolster the occasional B/W posted too.

Good to have you back and your valued comments too!

Love the framing, crop ratio and use of B&W here Peter, all enhancing nicely, would like a touch more lower room if you have it.

Great to have you back, sir. I too would appreciate more B&W, as I've been posting some more recently and it seems to have caught on with Rachel, so having you add to this medium will only increase the force of the "revolution"
I like the warm tone here, the DOF and overall image design...would personally have left more space at the bottom...but I am beginning to appreciate the odd square crop these days as well

So good this hurts, evocative and perfect use of DOF.
