    Default Virginia Rail

While out this weekend With Danial Cadieux and Stephen Stephen , we used an MP3 player to call this one in. Created while lying flat on my stomach , this one came out of the reeds about 6 feet in front of me , I took a little bit off the left and right , and cloned out an OOF reed as well , Much thanks to Dan for the cloning tips,,, Canon 20D w/ 200 F/2.8L, F/8.0 @ 1/800sec, ISO 400 , Manual exposure

Not easy finding this bird out in the open Wayne !!!! Filled a lot of the frame with a 200!!!!

Would try cropping a little different Probably taking some form the bottom Can just imagine if you had a 500 !!!! The area around the neck looks a bit strange? Is that were you go the reed from? Might want to fill it in

Sharp well exposed and great head angle !!!!

Great find, details and eye contact. I would go for a more vertical crop and I find the bright spots left and right of the neck a bit distracting.

    Hi Wayne,
I like your capture and composition. The colors are very nice, like that eye. I would crop from the bottom just enough to take the tail out and perhaps a little from the left of the frame to off set him just a tad more...CONGRATS...:D

Nice capture Wayne. I like how you can see tiny water drops on the breast feathers. Perhaps you can tone down the bright spots near the neck with the Burn tool.

Well, knowing where the two bright reeds were I think you did a great job cleaning up the image. It was quite a treat to see Virginia Rails from so close ( and they weren't around the neck area ;-) )
