    I like the vertical lines in the image - a large crop - pity the center bird is facing away from the camera -

    This is awesome, Craig. Yes, would be better if the center bird would face the camera, but it works like this too. I am not sure about the clipped wing and the missing legs Maybe you could try a different horizontal crop focusing on the top part of the birds. Well seen and captured.

    Excellent image of herons.Great exposure,lovely lights and nice composition.Love the symmetrical pose of two birds.

    Thanks for your comments - Glad the image managed to bring a smile and chuckle :-)

    I know the crop breaks the rules but the bottom half of the image is very busy. (Lots of branches, breaking up the vertical flow of the image)
    The horizontal crop just does not work :-(
