Hi Bob , I'll be interested to hear what everybody has to say about this one . Looks great to me ! I don't see anything to cc about . Hopefully that means I will learn something from this shot !

Bob, there's always one in the crowd... Not that there's anything wrong with what you've got, as Jeff says-hard to find anything worth CC'ing. It's beautiful as is. Name: 1209Bombay_1RM0357.jpg

    Bob,

Greetings. Good looking pose... whites a bit bright for my taste without detail. Feather detail seems a tad soft to my eye... 1/200 seems slow to me at 500mm (even w/ beanbag). Really striking color. I would be inclined to straighten the perch (posts straight up and down) but would need more room for the tail with rotation.

Like the wider crop in OP over Randall's tight crop for the pleasing bg.

& I'd call it a Redtail - Eastern Variety (wasn't sure about the white chin since I don't see that out here in the West... Sibley has the Eastern Variety with it...). No expert here, though.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

That does indeed look like a Red-tailed hawk. Maybe an older juvenile.

I like the photo, very vibrant. I think the whites are a bit too punchy...might do with some highlight recovery. I think the perch could be straitened as well. I do find it intriguing that its perch is a nesting box. ;)

Bob, this is a juvenile red-tailed hawk for sure. The image is quite contrasty and I would tone down the highlights quite a bit. The negative space on the right does not add to the image and Randall's repost is spot on for me - needs to be a vertical. Love the pose and the color rendition! Nice job on the capture!
