I took this shot more than a month ago.
I kind of like it for some reason.
I tidied up the water a bit.
Thanks for looking.

Well, I kind of like it too! Ha! The background is messy, but the bird is more than charming! As for the double nycticorax: great details, quite a pose, and a healthy look at hose delightful talons! The background is not exactly beautiful, but of course this is a common habitat for these fine birds. Thanks for sharing this good guy
Hi Karl, I like the angled pose, and of course with the tucked in foot too. Good DOF on the heron, sharp, and interesting to see that he's as happy as can be with all that sludge around. It makes you wonder if any fish can actually live in such dirty water. There again, there must be, or else he wouldnt be fishing for his next meal.![]()
The beautiful colouration and super pose more than compensate for the slightly busy background, I think this a really strong image - super detail.
Fantastic shot Karl, for me the herons red eye make this image. The BG is busy but great shot non the less.
Nice image. The red eyes are great. I personally like the moss covered branches he is perched on. Techs look good too. Well done
Nice image Karl. I like the perch, pose, raised foot and sharpness. You could crop this as a vertical to minimize the busy BG.

I also think a vertical crop would look nice. The tucked foot is cool and a very nice details on the Heron.
