    Default Black-Crowned Night-Heron

This juvenile BCNH was hanging around a local pond and was not at all camera-shy. I wish I could get as clean a look at an adult, but that has yet to happen.

    Canon 30D, 400mm, f/5.6, 1/1250, ISO 800, no flash, handheld

Nicely done, plenty of detail, good head angle and exposure control.
I also wish for a cleaner bill :)

THat's an appealing image Dan! I love the composition, clean BG and your subject's behavior. Was it feeding or preening?

Not sure. That fuzz was already there.

Love the sharpness in the eye and all the feather detail. Comp is perfect for me.

I am in the clean bill club though.

I'll clone out the fuzz later and repost the result. Thanks all for the feedback!
