Well done in what looks like pretty bright light. Easier to show the suggested crop than type it.

Before I saw Arthur's crop, I thought the exact same thing.
About my favorite bird, I would love to have this.

I prefer the lighter tones and more spacious composition of the OP.
Perfect head angle on this one sir.
I like both versions and I also think a vertical would have worked also. Nice HA and pose with plenty of detail.

Hi Jim, I like how the nuthatch is perched looking out into the frame. I like Artie's repost, but Don's idea of a vertical could work too - if you have space.
I'm OK with OP. Excellent pose, BG & IQ. Very nice composition. TFS
I like the shot in general. Either crop works because the shot is beautiful. Great everything. One of the best shots I have seen of this species. Great work.
Absolutely superb image of Nuthatch.Great IQ,beautiful colors and great details.Love the pose.
Regards,
Satish.
I like the detail & the classic nuthatch pose. I agree with Artie's crop. TFS.

I like both crops too. Excellent nuthatch image, I like pretty much everything about it. Super details, great BG, perfect nuthatch pose.
Beautiful portrait, Jim! Great job on this little speedster. I do prefer Artie's crop.
Nice detail, great HA and classic nuthatch pose. Either crop works for me, but Artie's seems just a bit tight.
Very nice image in a classic pose, Jim.
Thanks everyone for the kind comments and suggestions.
