I had one of the most amazing morning on Saturday. As the sun rose an army of waders paraded around in front of me. Lying in the mud could have never been better
This photograph was created 20mins after sunrise. I have not enhances WB or Saturation. A few years ago I would have thought that an image like this was the result of "photoshop trickery" I know better now......

    Chris:

The light is special, rich colors, nice striding pose.

    Good shooting angle.

Needs a bit of CW rotation based on the ripple.

Hope to see more from your outing.

    Cheers

Hi Chris, sweet, sweet light, and lying in the mud has paid nicely off to create this low perspective. good walking pose, and nicely separated from the BG. I agree with Randy, that the image needs a touch of CW rotation.

Beautiful light for sure, and I love your low angle. Excellent capture in mid stride. Overall a wonderful portrait of this heron. I could see a version without the slanting reed in lower left corner and its reflection, but also fine with it.

Such wonderful light, well worth the early rise and the mud. I agree the slanting reed could do with going for me it distacts a little as it looks like the birds legs. A nice evocative shot which portrays the atmosphere of dawn well.

The light quality is divine!...as is the setting, the pose, the composition, the low angle, the head angle, etc. etc.
    Sweet frame sir.

Thanks for the taking the time to share your thoughts, folks!!

Stuart, Randy... Thanks for picking up on the slight rotation that is necessary.
