    Default Banff Grizzly

I could eat you if I wanted to.

    1D MK4, 300mm 2.8, 1.4
    f/5.6, 1/500, ISO 400
about 50% crop, cleaned up straw running across his nose, various other adjustments in ACR sharpening, clarity, vibrance some fill light.
Why am I not getting a thumbnail?

    Great look from the bear.

I do find the stumps in front of bear a little distracting.

Personally I would add a little more sharpening and look to tone down the foliage to help the bear pop, which would take the image up a notch or two.

    Hi Joe
    Russel's given some sounds advice.
I would also consider cropping square here - not everyone likes it but I feel the pose of the bear with the direction of the gaze makes the space on the RHS unnecessary.

Sweet look from the bear but he IQ has fallen with the large crop but. Try reducing the saturation a touch.

RE thumbnail: did you upload the image to BPN or via a link to a website? In my experience the thumbnail only shows if you upload directly to BPN. Hope this helps.
