    Frank:

Although the perch is massive for this little fellow, I find the lines pleasing, and the triangular shape in front points right to the subject.

Sharp and well exposed. Would prefer his head a bit our way, and I would consider toning down some of the brightest spots in the BG, particularly the one above his head.

    Cheers

    Pretty little bird.
How are you enjoying your 600mm version II?
I wish for a better HA but still a lovely image,
    Gail

This is a very cute bird. I like these types of rock perches, I have a few setup in my backyard for photography purposes. I too wish for a better HA and a lower angle, if possible, would have helped hide the OOF rock behind the perch. Nice BG and vegetation.

Gail, the lens is simply superb, light, fast, sharp, but also very expensive.

Hi Frank, well placed in the frame, and nicely separated from the BG. I like the colours and detail on this little guy, and agree, the only thing I would change is to blend in the bright spot above the head in the BG.

    Nice triangular composition!
I like the head angle on this one, almost makes the bird seem shy or bashful.
The soft light quality is pleasing. Cropping a bit off the left hand side to get rid
of the brighter green splotch on the upper left edge of the frame is worth considering.
I also like the idea of toning down the bright bg area above the bird's head.

Excellent image Frank, the new lens is doing you proud - or maybe the other way round. It is so hard to get these birds in the open and to get him on a perch other than a reed is great.Nice comp and exposure, as has been said a little turn of the head would have been nice but you cant have everything.
