I think you have really accomplished something here!
Easily one of the best (bird small in frame) images I've seen in a while,
and of course there is a reason for that...they are not easy to pull off.
You've pulled it off and then some here sir.

Incredibly lovely, sharp, and painterly. Love your choice of crop/image design. All in all, spectacular. Were there zillions of them?

Very Nice. Love everything about this one. Capturing the take off is perfect and well exposed. The FG and BG is beautiful. Great work Joe. Also your welcome on the hawk ID.

I like this lots Joe. Very well done...when a small in the frame bird works well it works wonders, such is the case here.

Hi Joe, great pre-take off pose with the raised wings, and I too like the overall setting in the image. The light looks nice and soft, and I like the mixture of in focus grasses, and OOF grasses.

I love this image. The composition really works here. The bird and flower perch really stand out nicely from that soft, yet interesting, background. The wings-up pose and visible crown add even more to an already lovely image. Congrats.

Super image, Joe. It has all of the elements. The colors all work so well together. Love the varied habitat. Killer pose on the bird and even though the environment is quite powerful in this image, it really stands out and looks nice and sharp full of details.
