This elk was photographed at Rocky Mountain National Park during the rut. It seems he was just plumb tuckered out. I like his peaceful pose and how he is surrounded by so much color.

Since I'm just back from RMNP I know color is tough to come by, nice job with the contrast.

Marina - this works very well. I like the comp and the colors with the brown of the elk mimicked by the brown of the bush. Nice balance to the image too.

Hi Marina, well having just spent the whole day with the deer today, I can sympathise with this guy. The Stags over here are just starting and the hinds are quite skittish, it took me about an hour to get a comfortable distance to shoot for both of us, although that might be partly down to crawling through the grass and other things, so perhaps I was beginning to smell like them too. The young bucks are are a little less worried allowing to get really close, so I'm not sure about the Rules & Regs in shooting these with you guys, but again, personally I would like a lower shooting angle, so the FG goes to mush, but we all shoot differently too. Nicely composed in frame and I like the 3/4 pose. I wonder if a little more USM might help on the face?

    Hi Marina,
lovely peaceful setting with some nice color variations and really relaxed looking stag.
Comp works well likewise the contrast and a hint more sharpening on the elk , can help i think.

Nice relaxing pose/scene here, Marina...in soft light.
My first thought was for some sharpening on the face, too
