This was taken just down the street from my house. It was taken about 15 minutes after sunset from my vehicle. If I got out of the car it would have taken off. This is my first high ISO image. I cropped it this way to include the full kill area. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Cool capture Jim. It's a little busy looking at first but when I brought it up it seemed not as bad. I would remove the vertical oof blade of grass in very front. Nice eye.

Nice opportunity and nice angle. The Hawk is really attractive.
I don' t consider 1600 high ISo, the IQ looks fine.

Ilike the pose and the natural history being told here for me the image could use just a touch of mid tone contrast

I really like the kill and the eye contact. I think you can sharpen the hawk a bit more. looks great
would clone the single dominant OOF twig in the FG below the tail

Nice shot and the kill is big plus. Good looking adult female with nice red eyes. Everything looks good with the techs. Maybe a little bit of contrast or saturation boost. Great capture..

Great finding and a very nice picture, Jim.
I was very careful with ISO up until the last few month. As I shoot a lot late afternoon, I shoot more and more with ISO 1600 with great result.
1D MIV is quite capable at 1600.

Great encounter here, love the prey remains and the feather stuck to the bill. I feel this could use a warming boost to the WB, especially for the dry field surroundings. I'm with Arash about the single OOF stalk in the FG. Awesome image!!
