Still processing the backlog of images from the past few years. I came across this one from last spring that I thought I would share...

This is beautiful. The soft light lends great detail to the bird's challenging colors. The background is perfect.

Very appealing, and the head looks velvety smooth! Great low angle and gorgeous BG / FG colours. The bright elongated eye reflection competes for attention a bit though IMO. Perhaps reducing its impact would be good?

Glenn - not just a beautiful photograph but a real work of art. I love the surreal feel to it. Great detail, framing and lighting. I agree with Daniel about the eye reflection.

    Glenn:

You have captured the subtle colors on the head well, with soft background, nice head angle, very nice overall. Yes, I would clean up the elongated catchlight reflection also.

I am seeing some jaggies along the profile of the head from sharpening, at least on my monitor.

    Beautifully exposed.

    Cheers

Truly expresses the beauty of this bird and the natural world in general. As others have said: tranquil, serene, and beautiful. Congratulations.

How can you sit on such a photo for several months without processing it? The simple setting really brings out the beauty in the bird. Can't stop staring at it.
