Nice comp. Light looks a bit harsh, but the shadow did not land on the eye which helps. The BG competes a little for me. The tail turned towards the camera is great.

Nice incoming aspect. I agree that the light looks harsh, and might consider toning down the brightness on the body. It's true that the BG competes, but I rather like it since it makes this a bit different from the normal tern-in-flight.

Pretty neat overall, with interesting colours in the BG...taken into context I like it. I would place the subject higher in the frame by croppping to just below the darker blotch at top left. The tail twist towards us is indeed nice.

An enjoyable image overall. Sharp details and excellent exposure work containing the whites
in the bright light. As mentioned, the background adds some nice variety when considering the
vast amounts of tern in flight images that are shown on the web.

Lovely image, the pose and head angle are great. I would selectively sharpen the head and beak, to further enhance the bird from the bg. The background is nice, but the red really throws me off for some reason.

Looks like you had to deal with some harsh light. Nice flight shot.

Alan, Bill, Daniel, Shawn, Miguel, Karl,

Thanks much for the comments. They are greatly appreciated. Yeah, harsh light... I'll work it down a bit in pp.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-
