Hi Marina, excellent exposure on the whites, and just love the 'S' shape of the neck. You timed the bill coming out the water nicely, and of course, the clear reflection puts this over the top.

    Marina,

Greetings. Beautiful whites & symmetry. I wonder what the colors dialed back a bit in saturation would look like (the green-orange-water blue).

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Wow - that's a stunning, dramatic image. Sidebar: Many users of the Canon 400 DO have dissed its sharpness and color rendition. Guess they didn't know how to get the results from that lens, because your image doesn't lack in any respect. Comp's great too as everyone else has already pointed out.

Very nicely done, Marina. I second everything others have said. When I see images like this one, I realize that I still have lots to learn, so thanks for that.

I won't thank you for putting that song in my head though .

I always love white-on-dark images, this one is no exception. Very appealing throughout. Might be an illusion, but I get the feeling the image could use a tiny bit of CW rotation.

    Hi Marina,
I think this is one of my favorite shots of yours.
I love the browns and tans and green in the water. Very neat how the green in the water is next to the green lores of reflection.
I particularly like the curve of the neck and the wispy feather draped above the back.
    Awesome reflection.
You get a 10 out of 10 from me on this one!

What a great image, classy is an apt adjective.
The breeding plumage of this heron looks awesome too.
I must be too young....I've no idea what song you referenced...
