    Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 L IS, taken from car ISO 400 +0.3 1/2000 sec f5.6,
    Only a few moments apart, this shot was taken in much brighter light compared to the lapwing shot I submitted, all comments welcome.

    The first thing I note here is that the image needs some CW rotation. I find myself wishing that I could see more of the eyes and I find the pose somewhat awkward, maybe b/c it's not symmetrical. It's nice to see the plumes on top of the head and the colors on the far wing. The near wing has a nice pose and is well exposed but, all together, it just isn't working for me I am sorry to say.

    Hi Jon, great angle from your car, and I like how we can see the iridescence on the top of the far wing. I feel your comp works well with the near wing spread into the frame. I agree with Marina that the image needs a CW rotation.

    I think it would work better with a different HA. Not easy to control. Good job with exposure.

    Thanks everyone, I must admit I see the need for rotation now but I missed it! Regards composition and angle, just beyond my control, this was the best I could get.

    Nice pose and details of a great looking bird, Jonathan. I wish for a better heas angle. Rotation has been already mentioned.
